“Interfaith Thanksgiving Service for the 64th Araw ng Calamba Celebration”

The month of February is significant for the Calambahanons. The Calambahanons not only celebrates Valentine’s Day but also commemorates the Araw ng Calamba.  The Municipality of Calamba, Misamis Occidental celebrates the 64th Araw ng Calamba with the theme: “GUGMA: TULAY SA KAHIUSAHAN, KALINAW, UG KALAMBOAN”.

Municipal Officials headed by Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva, Jr., MNSA, Municipal Vice Mayor Jesus C. Enerio, Sangguniang Bayan Members, National and Municipal Employees, Teachers and students, Religious Ministers and Barangay Officials headed by ABC President Hon. Ezel T. Villanueva gathered together at the Municipal Quadrangle for the Flag and Banners Raising. The event formally opened the celebration.
After the flag raising ceremony the guests proceed to Municipal Hall for the Interfaith Thanksgiving Service. There is a saying that “Put God first in everything we do”, so the Religious Ministers supported the Local Government Unit for the preparation and offered prayers for the success of the 64th Araw ng Calamba.
The event featured Religious Ministers preaching and providing prayers for the Community, Family, Youth, Subanen Tribes, celebration for the 64th Araw ng Calamba, Education, Health, for the Local Government Unit and for Peace and Order.
The annual service happened every first day of the celebration. The intentioned of the Interfaith Thanksgiving Service is to give thanks to the Lord for all blessings that have happened all through the year.

Community Based Rehab Program Culmination Day
 
The municipality of Calamba Spearheaded the Oplan Tokhang's Community Based Rehab Program Culmination day. On February 9, 2018 at Moelci I. It the program started with a reflection given by Rev. Pastor David Cunahap of Bible Baptist Church, and it was followed by Dr. Rodolfo C. Borbon and he certifies that the surrenderees has completed the 180 hours rehab and has not taken the Methamphetamine Hydrochloride or also known as shabu along the rehab. Engr. Ezel T. Villanueva, the PDEA Provincial Officer, the DILG Provincial Director, PNP Provincial Director also given their messages on the surrenderees and it was followed by Giving of Certificated and Food Packs.
