 Barangay Day during the 66th Araw ng Calamba
The celebration of Araw ng Calamba won’t be complete without the support of the 19 Barangays of the municipality. The Barangay Day held last February 12, 2014 at the Municipal Quadrangle. The celebration features Folk Dance Contests and Pinoy Games.
The municipal plaza filled with hundreds of residence from the 19 Barangays who were excited to witness the event and participated in the folk dance contest and the pinoy games.
The ceremony of this year’s Barangay Day was graced by Municipal Mayor Ezel T. Villanueva, Municipal Vice Mayor Jesus C. Enerio, District Supervisor Mrs. Lina Cinches, Southwestern Poblacion Elementary School Principal Mrs. Edna B. Duhaylungsod, Provincial Officials headed by ABC Federated President Hon. Gerard Hilarion Ramiro. 
The folk dance contests are being appreciated again and it also add color to the observance of the Araw ng Calamba during Barangay Day. During past celebrations modern dance and hip hop were usually performed. 
In the competition, contestants are required to present to the chairman of the board of judges their dance literature of their contest piece as part of the contest criteria. Dances are mostly interpretations of courtship, planting and festivity. The participating groups were basically Barangay Officials. 
Barangay Solinog bagged as the 1st place with its winning dance piece “Singkil”, a dance originating from Lanao del Sur, Mindanao is said to be a dance of Muslim royalty, while Barangay Southwestern Poblacion was pronounced 2nd place after performing the “Habanera Botolena”, it is a courtship dance but sometime it is also performed during weddings and other social gatherings,   then Barangay Calaran take home the 3rd place with their dance “Paseo de Narciso”.  
The judges were Ms. Iris Amor B. Duhaylungsod, Mr. Adrew Dapac and the Chairman of the Board of Judges is Mrs. Susan P. Doyongan 
The 1st place winner received P 5,000.00, while the second place winner received P 3,000.00 and third place winner got P 2,000.00. 
In the afternoon, the locals enjoyed the Pinoy Games like Maria went to town, coconut trees, egg relay and iyogyog mo using eggplant and tennis balls as props. Indeed, the participants had fun joining the games under the heat of the sun.

The event displayed the local talents, camaraderie and unity among the locals of the 19 Barangays.
The Committee that facilitates this year’s contest on Folk Dance and Parlor Games were the LGU employees.

3rd prize - Barangay Bunawan

1st prize - Barangay Sulipat 
2nd prize - Barangay Bunawan
3rd prize - Barangay Solinog

3. EGG RELAY

1st prize - Barangay Bunawan
2nd prize - Barangay Calaran
3rd prize - Barangay Sulipat

4. IYOGYOG MO

1st prize - Barangay Salvador
2nd prize - Barangay San Isidro
