The Calambahanons from all walks of life gathered together last December 22, 2010 at
Mateo Matunog Gymnasium at 7 o’clock in the evening witnessing the yearly Calamba Community Christmas Festival 2010 with this year’s theme: “PAGHINATAGAY, PAGSANDUROTAY, PAKIG-DAIT UG PAGBAG-O DIHA SA DIWA SA PASKO UBAN SA PANALANGIN SA BATANG JESUS”.
The Local Government Unit of Calamba, Misamis Occidental in coordination with the Private and Government Sectors spearheaded the Calamba Community Christmas Festival 2010. The yearly Christmas Festival showcased the local talents of the Calambahanons through dances and songs presentations.
Municipal Officials spearheaded by Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva graced the event.
Fabulous costumes give life to the occasion. Red color costumes dominate the costumes colors coz it symbolized Christmas.
Each presentation was so entertaining and some was educational. The participating sectors were Private and Public faculties, staffs and students; Calamba out-of-school youths, Federation of Senior Citizens Chorale; PNP Wives; Federated Women’s Association; Religious Organizations; DepEd; Local Council of Women, Couples for Christ; Sangguniang Bayan Members; CAFECARBA, MOELCI-I, ANAK; Daycare teachers; Calamba Local Tourism Council and more others.
Participants of the Christmas Festival impressed the audience of their colorful costumes as well as their latest dance steps which they learned from TV programs.
More groups participates this year’s festival compare to last year. This year’s presentation is one-of-a-kind experience for the performers especially for the audience and that they will remember and looking forward for the next year festival.
Each year, many Calambahanons continuously develop interest to this unique occasion that shows colorful and eye-catching dance and songs presentations.
Aside from presentation, the audiences were also excited for the raffle draws were groceries and sacks of rice were given to those lucky audience.
The Christmas Festival is a yearly event that revealed the values of our Christmas tradition. It’s a gift to all the Calambahanons which they will always treasure it.
