The 26th Anniversary of Southwestern Poblacion is the time to pay honor for the efforts and achievements of past and present constituents of SWP and the community endeavor in making the Southwestern Poblacion part of the growing Barangays of the Municipality of Calamba.

    The other highlights of the celebration are the Culmination and Coronation Ceremonies of the Mutya ng Sinulog 2008. Local beauties from the Puroks of SWP were presented and were chosen who among them will be crown as “Mutya ng Sinulog 2008” through a glass dance.   

    Gracing the occasion were the Provincial Vice Governor Francisco Paylaga, Jr.; Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Rolando R. Regalado; Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva, Jr., MNSA; Mun. Vice Mayor Jesus C. Enerio; Sangguniang Bayan Members Zenaida Medija and Moises Leonardo.

    Newly elected Barangay Captain Ezel Tabuelog Villanueva in her words of welcome said that she was thankful for the support rendered to her during the October 29, 2008 Barangay Election. She was glad that even it’s her first time organizing the Anniversary Celebration of SWP but the constituents and Barangay Officials supported the activities up to the culmination program.  

    Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva, Jr., MNSA give a speech as a support for the 26th Anniversary of Southwestern Pob.

    Miss Almi Alboiz of Purok 1 was the 2nd runner up, Miss Joanesse P. Gumop-as of Purok 2 got the 1st runner up and Miss Lotis Lyn Dolotina is the Mutya ng Sinulog 2008.

 

    Provincial Governor Francisco Paylaga, Jr. said “that it’s easy to realize the future projects of the barangay because the Barangay Captain is the wife of your Municipal Mayor. Provincial and Municipal Officials were so happy watching the constituents of the barangay celebrating the 26th Anniversary of SWP. Let’s forget the past episode of politics.  Let’s join together in helping the barangay to progress, the youth and most important the entire Municipality of Calamba”   

    Different dance presentation made the occasion colorful. People were cheering and so excited when the Provincial Officials headed by the Provincial  Vice Governor Francisco Paylaga, Jr., Municipal Officials headed by Municipal Mayor Villanueva and SWP Barangay Officials headed By Brgy. Captain Ezel Villanueva danced the latest popular dance craze in town the “Papayas”. Most of them are not dance enthusiasts but for the benefit of fun they were forced to dance and give the audience the amusement.  

    The later part of the program was the raffle draws. Rice and groceries were given. People excitedly wait for their name to be called.  

    Congratulation to the 26th Anniversary Celebration of Barangay Southwestern Poblacion, Calamba, Misamis Occidental
