One of the guests of honor who graced the occasion is no less than the Congresswoman of the 1st District of Misamis Occidental Hon. Marina P. Clarete. Even in her hectic schedules as a congresswoman of the 1st District of Misamis Occidental but she still find time to visit and attend the oath taking ceremony. She was very excited seeing those women that really supported her during last May 14, 2007 National and Local Election. It was her big opportunity to extend her gratitude to the women who supported her candidacy during the election. The warm response of the audience during her speech made her feel proud that even if she’s a woman but she has the capability to be a leader and to do her job as a congresswoman. Her ability is not only as a wife to former congressman and now the Municipal Mayor of Plaridel, Misamis Occidental Hon. Ernie Clarete and as a mother but also a law maker. According to her “we as women should help our barangays, municipality and community to progress. The progress of our barangays and municipality is not only a responsibility of our barangay and local officials but this is also our responsibility as will.” She also added that being a mother we should also take good care of our family especially our children to make them more responsible citizens. Participating in a different Women’s Organization is a big help to boost our skills as a women.”

Maribel Gonzales, Officer-in-Charge of Gender and Development Center and Sangguniang Bayan Member Judelyn E. Bolotaulo also graced the occasion. They tackled how women played an important role in the improvement of their respective barangays and their municipality. One of the examples is the participation of women in government. We should not be afraid of our weaknesses as a women instead we should use our strength to serve our barangays and our municipality. Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva, Jr., MNSA failed to attend the oath taking ceremony because he has another commitment that day. Women’s Organization strengthens the camaraderie of women in the municipality.

The new set of officers of the Barangay Women’s Welfare Association; Local Council of Women and Federated Women’s Welfare Association were all officially inducted by Congresswoman Marina P. Clarete.

Different dance presentation from the different Women’s Organization made the occasion more colorful. It showed the different talents of women and it also proved how talented the Calambahanon.
