The newly elected officials of the Municipality of Calamba, Misamis Occidental take their oath of office before administering officer Honorable Judge Ruben R. Cagas, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 36 last June 29, 2007, 9 o’clock in the morning at the Municipal Hall which was attended by their respective families, friends, Barangay Captains of the 19 Barangay of Calamba, National and Local employees and all the department heads.
The newly elected official who took their oath of office were reelected Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva, Jr., MNSA and running mate newly elected Municipal Vice-Mayor Jesus Cuarto Enerio. The newly elected Sangguniang Bayan Members were Judelyn Echavia Bolotaulo, Joelito Guillena Intong, Lito Liso Awa, Zenaida Cagatan Medija and as well as reelected Sangguniang Bayan Members Edgar Villanueva Iman, Moises Digit Leonardo and out-going Municipal Vice Mayor Ernest Alburo Descallar who run for Sangguniang Bayan Member.
Reelected Sangguniang Bayan Member Nathaniel A. Neri also joined the activity even as he took his oath of office last June 27, 2007 before Honorable Judge Ruben Cagas.
All the newly elected officials who took their oath of office swear in front of their families, friends, supporters, national and local employees, barangay captains to truly do their duties, function and responsibilities of their position to the best of their abilities and they will support and defend the Constitution of the Philippines and obey the laws and duties.
After the oath-taking ceremony Judge Ruben Cagas delivered his message to the newly elected officials. According to him “People of Calamba deserves a good public service from the newly elected officials. People need a public official that is honest and dedicated to the service.
Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva, Jr., MNSA promised to continue at his full capacity to serve his constituents the Calambahanons. He promised to build more farm-to-market roads, more infrastructure projects, programs that will benefit the farmers for the reason that Calamba is more of an agricultural area, more job opportunities either in local or abroad, and promising better opportunities and continued progress for the municipality of Calamba. In his message he was thankful that the local election in the municipality was peaceful, honest. “Let us support the newly elected officials and help in implementing solution to the current and future problems of the municipality. We should do what we promised to our constituents during the campaigned period. Let us give good, honest, sustainable government to the Calambahanons.”
After the short program all the visitors enjoyed the delicious lunch prepared by the families of the newly elected officials.
