SGLG National Validation of Calamba, September 25, 2023, The Seal of Good Local Governance is recognition by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to Local Government units that have demonstrated outstanding performance in various area of governance. It serves as a testament to our commitment to providing quality public service and promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance.
With uninterrupted public service Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva Jr,. MNSA, top priority and in consideration of several frontline office being situated within the LGU, simple yet intimate welcome program, actively participate by key figure in the local government, including Municipal Administrator Egnr. Ezel T. Villanueva, Municipal Vice Mayor Antonio Lawas, department heads, PNP, DepEd and focal person responsible for LGU Calamba programs and projects, was conducted to receive and greet National SGLG Validators. DIRECTOR II, OPERATIONS MANAGRMENT SERVICES Fausiah R. Abdula, LDRRM III, DRRMD CHIEF, Engr. Abdul Nazer Ugokan, LGOO II, Sittie Shadidah R. Katug, LGOO II, Geila Mae de los Angeles. Assisted by DILG Calamba SGLG team, led by MLGOO VI Faith R. Constantino, the validation proper started with table validation of document and interviews followed by site inspection. The LGU must pass all ten (10) governance areas: Financial Administrator and Sustainability Disaster Preparedness Social Protection and Sensitivity Health Compliance and Responsiveness; Sustainable Education Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Safety Peace and Order, Environmental Management; Tourism, Heritage Development Culture, and Youth Development.
This year, according to DILG performance measure are further upgraded to also gauge the outcome-oriented efforts of the LGUs. SGLG aims to recognize and reward LGUs and Provinces that exhibit exemplary performance in various governance performance areas, ultimately promoting good governance practice and fostering sustainable development.
