Seal of Good Local Governance National Validation 2023

SGLG National Validation of Calamba, September 25, 2023, The Seal of Good Local Governance is recognition by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to Local Government units that have demonstrated outstanding performance in various area of governance. It serves as a testament to our commitment to providing quality public service and promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance.

With uninterrupted public service Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva Jr,. MNSA, top priority and in consideration of several frontline office being situated within the LGU, simple yet intimate welcome program, actively participate by key figure in the local government, including Municipal Administrator Egnr. Ezel T. Villanueva, Municipal Vice Mayor Antonio Lawas, department heads, PNP, DepEd and focal person responsible for LGU Calamba programs and projects, was conducted to receive and greet National SGLG Validators. DIRECTOR II, OPERATIONS MANAGRMENT SERVICES Fausiah R. Abdula, LDRRM III, DRRMD CHIEF, Engr. Abdul Nazer Ugokan, LGOO II, Sittie Shadidah R. Katug, LGOO II, Geila Mae de los Angeles. Assisted by DILG Calamba SGLG team, led by MLGOO VI Faith R. Constantino, the validation proper started with table validation of document and interviews followed by site inspection. The LGU must pass all ten (10) governance areas: Financial Administrator and Sustainability Disaster Preparedness Social Protection and Sensitivity Health Compliance and Responsiveness; Sustainable Education Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Safety Peace and Order, Environmental Management; Tourism, Heritage Development Culture, and Youth Development.

This year, according to DILG performance measure are further upgraded to also gauge the outcome-oriented efforts of the LGUs. SGLG aims to recognize and reward LGUs and Provinces that exhibit exemplary performance in various governance performance areas, ultimately promoting good governance practice and fostering sustainable development.

Last June 27, 2023. Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) Payout is an adaptive strategy of the DSWD and the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental headed by hard Working Governor Gov. Henry S. Oaminal with the hard working Mayors of Local Government unit of Plaridel Mayor Hon. Gadwid Estabas Handumon, Local Government Unit of Baliangao Mayor Hon. Haneya Theresa Yap Chiong and Local Government Unit of Calamba Mayor Hon. Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva Jr., MNSA, together with the Sanguniang Bayan Member held at Municipal Gymnasium. Calamity cash assistance is a form of financial aid provided by government or organizations to individuals or households affected by natural disasters or calamities. It is intended to help people recover from the immediate of the disaster and meet their basic needs during the recovery period. The assistance is targeted towards those who have suffered significant losses or damage to their property, livelihoods, or have been displaced from their homes due to the disaster. In bridging the gap between disaster relief, humanitarian response and recovery support in disaster and emergency by providing unconditional cash assistance to disaster, affected families last December Shoreline Calamity. Emergency Cash Transfer Payout a total of 1640 beneficiaries from the Local Government Unit of Calamba, Plaridel and Baliangao.

125^th Philippines Independence Anniversary

June 12, 2023, 125^th Philippines Independence Anniversary ( Araw ng Kalayaan) therefore, would have been celebrating the country’s declarations of independence. This milestone would likely have been marked by special events and commemorations, the rich history and cultural heritage of the Philippines. The Philippines Independence Day is a National Holiday, the day when many people, including government employees. Held at Rizal Rotunda, Calamba, Misamis Occidental, headed by Municipal Mayor Dr Luisito B. Villanueva Jr., MNSA, and Municipal Administrator Engr. Ezel T. Villanueva with the Sanguniang Bayan Member, together with PNP, ARMY, Public and Private Teachers, Calamba District Hospital, Moelci - 1, LGU Calamba, students and others who attend the ceremony. The program start at 6:30am with the opening prayer Pastor Edgar B. Burlat, Sr. leads the opening prayer, Flag Raising with PNP and CNCHS- SPA Music Arts Sing the Philippine National Anthem. Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva Jr., MNSA give the Welcome Address shared an inspiring short message. The CNCHS Student shared their wonderful talents. Hon. Rediculo R. Valdehueza, Jr. CPA, Tribute to the Flag shared the Philippines Flag symbols, tribute to the flag is a way to express love to the country and honor the freedom. It is a reminder of the shared values and aspirations to blind the Filipino’s people together. Wreath Laying is ceremonial symbol of honor, respect. The closing remark to be given by Hon. Ianne E. Enerio, SB Member followed by closing prayer by Arch. Allan H. Bato the Municipal Architect. The program was ended.
