Uplift Assistance Payout Brings Hope and Support to Misamisnons
The Uplift Assistance Payout brought together local government officials, beneficiaries, community leaders, and residents in a meaningful gathering dedicated to extending assistance, hope, and encouragement to Misamisnons.
The program formally opened with an Opening Prayer led by Hon. Cherry F. Magsayo, setting a solemn and grateful atmosphere for the day’s activities.
This was followed by the Entrance of Colors performed by the 903rd MOC Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (IB), symbolizing patriotism, service, and dedication to the Filipino people. The National Anthem, Misamis Occidental Hymn, and Calamba March were then rendered by the Calamba National Comprehensive High School (CNCHS) Symphonic Band, adding pride and solemnity to the occasion.
The program continued with a warm Welcome Message from the beloved and energetic Municipal Mayor of Calamba, Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva, MNSA, who welcomed the beneficiaries and expressed his appreciation to the provincial government and partner agencies for bringing meaningful assistance to the people of Calamba.
Mayor Villanueva emphasized that programs such as the Uplift Assistance Payout are more than financial assistance—they are expressions of government service, compassion, and solidarity with families and individuals who need support.
Another part of the program was the Short Talk delivered by Hon. Golda Catherine June Yap-Resma, Municipal Mayor of Baliangao, Misamis Occidental, delivered an inspiring and heartfelt Short Talk during the Uplift Assistance Payout, emphasizing the importance of unity, compassion, and responsive public service in uplifting the lives of Misamisnons.
Mayor Yap-Resma, fondly known as “Sweet Yap-Resma,” shared her message of encouragement with the beneficiaries, recognizing their perseverance and determination in facing life’s challenges. She emphasized that assistance programs such as the Uplift Assistance Payout are not merely about providing financial support, but also about giving people hope and reminding them that their government stands with them.
In her message, Mayor Yap-Resma expressed appreciation to the provincial and municipal governments, partner agencies, and individuals who contributed to making the assistance possible. She highlighted the importance of cooperation among government officials and communities in ensuring that programs and services reach those who need them most.
The program also featured the message of One Province, One Misamisnon, One Leader, Provincial Governor Hon. Henry Sevilla Oaminal, who delivered an inspirational message centered on the values and identity of every Misamisnon.
Governor Oaminal emphasized the meaning of the province’s 5Ms: “Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon ug Malipayon,” which reflects the aspiration for every Misamisnon to live peacefully, prosperously, and happily.
He likewise highlighted the 5 Core Values of a Misamisnon:
- Matinahuron – Respectful
- Matinud-anon – Honest
- Matinabangon – Helpful
- Mahigugmaon – Loving
- Mainampuon – Prayerful
To make the message more engaging and memorable, Governor Oaminal encouraged beneficiaries and participants to recite the 5Ms and the 5 Core Values. Those who were able to properly recite them were rewarded with cash incentives, creating an inspiring and joyful moment during the program.
The activity demonstrated that public service is not only about providing material assistance but also about strengthening the values, unity, and pride of the Misamisnon community.
The Uplift Assistance Payout served as a reminder that through compassionate leadership, cooperation, and shared values, the people of Misamis Occidental can continue moving forward toward a province that is malinawon, malambuon, ug malipayon.
