Many of the farmers before kept on producing root crops without a marketing contract hence the cost and return analysis is very minimal and even resulted to a negative return. Recently, the LGU of Calamba adopted the One-Town-One-Product “OTOP” program and encourages the farmers to plant cassava with a marketing tie-up with the San Miguel Corporation.
