TOP TEN ACHIEVEMENTS/INNOVATIONS THAT CREATED GREAT IMPACT TO CALAMBA, MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL OVER NINE YEARS OF OCCUPATION AS A MAYOR

1.  

Establish peace and order condition by winning the hearts and minds of the people. Close Philippine National Police (PNP) supervision by means of proactive and reactive PNP activities.

2.    Released ₱22,305,600.00 for various livelihood projects to 61 Non Government Organizations. The livelihood projects is meant to help increase household income which is the biggest problem in Calamba.

3.    According to our Public Employment Service Office Manager helped employed an estimated 705 workers: 427 local, 182 overseas, and 96 around the country. Unemployment is the second biggest problem in Calamba.

4.    Invited local and foreign investors which caused the increase of 12 % in business establishments. Calamba has the biggest number of business establishments among all 14 municipalities of Misamis Occidental which helped increase household income and helped generate employment.

5.    Allocated an estimated ₱97,546,663.00 improvement of roads  80 % is located in the interior barangays. Poor road condition is the third biggest problem in Calamba.

6.    Constructed water systems in the barangay worth ₱13 Million. Also improved and constructed new irrigation systems worth ₱42,300,000.00.

7.    Improved the Calamba Public Market. This includes the construction of  various multi-purpose buildings among all 19 barangays.

8.    Constructed the new gymnasium; new soccer field; acquired boxing ring and other sports materials; and organized various sports development projects.

9.    Applied electronic governance in Calamba. Embraced new technology which made Calamba transparent, efficient, and accessible.

10. Awarded the Seal of Good Housekeeping for Local Government Unit. My summary is helping to increase household income, helping to generate employment, and helping to improve economic infrastructure.

PARTING SHOTS/MESSAGE TO COLLEAGUES IN THE LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITIES OF THE PHILIPPINES (LMP)

Public officers and employees must, at all times, be accountable to the people, serve them with utmost responsibility, integrity, loyalty, and efficiency; act with patriotism and justice, and lead modest lives.

Knowingly that our salaries and budget are low serving the government is a virtue of simple living, initiative, and hard work.  According to BIR Commissioner Kim J. Henares if you want to get rich then don’t work in the government.

To my colleagues in the LMP being a Municipal Mayor is wholeheartedly giving all our strengths, talents, time, and resources in the service of the government. It may be a thankless job but it is a position that demands great personal sacrifice even affecting to the last days of our lives.

            Like our heroes patriotism demands not recognition but trying our best on what we can give to our country. We may not able to fulfill completely all our visions in the Local Government Unit for the past nine years but at least we have tried our best in contribution to the delivery of basic services to our people.
